A word from president Samuel Jourson

The founding president on the GIGA'GAMES vision and the GIGA'GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES.

A word from president Samuel Jourson

Samuel Jourson, president of GIGA'GAMES, Guadeloupe Esports Federation.

It is an immense source of pride for me and the entire GIGA'GAMES team to support CANOC and CROS Guadeloupe with our esports event (associated, but not included) alongside these first Caribbean Games. We undertake the organisation of the GIGA'GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES Guadeloupe 2022 with enthusiasm. We also see it as recognition of the work accomplished with passion over a long time, and of our determination, alongside others, to keep advancing esports in our Caribbean basin while contributing to the global esports ecosystem.

When this event and historic rapprochement in Guadeloupe and the Caribbean were announced, we already received tremendous support and congratulations from colleagues around the world: from Martinique, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Haiti, Belgium, Côte d'Ivoire, India, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Suriname.

Esports, for us, is also an important driver of cultural and human exchange. And as I like to say:

Esport bring nations, esport bring people.

The GIGA'GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES are a first great step in this marriage between high-level sport and esports in Guadeloupe. 2022 will also be marked, in early November, by another major esports event tied to the Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe, for which the GIGA'GAMES federation works with the Région Guadeloupe and one of Europe's leading esports and gaming digital platforms, NiceCactus, which provides a full online environment for the qualifiers of the participating countries.
